If you are budget-conscious and seeking affordable tires that fulfill your driving requirements, these may be suitable for you.

It is always advisable to use the tires recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer. However, this can sometimes be a costly option, as some of these brands are highly reputable and their tires are priced accordingly.

When purchasing tires, it is crucial not to compromise safety for cost. Fortunately, all passenger tires must adhere to the Uniform Tire Quality Grading (UTQG) System, which complies with Federal safety standards. Understanding this rating system can potentially save you significant amounts when buying new tires.

CrossWind tires are produced by TBC, a privately owned company that distributes private brand tires in North America. Retailers such as PepBoys and Walmart offer these tires at a reasonable price range ($55-$70).

These tires claim a 520 A A UTQG rating, indicating compliance with Federal safety standards. However, it is important to note that these tires are not listed in the NHTSA's 2024 Consumer Guide to Uniform Tire Quality Grading. Therefore, you must exercise your own judgment regarding the validity of their UTQG rating.

Does this imply that the tire is unsafe? Not necessarily; it simply means that the quality rating is not confirmed by the DOT/NHTSA, so caution is advised.

The good news is that you can register these tires with the DOT using the Tire Identification Number (TIN) and receive notifications from the DOT in the event of any recalls for this specific tire.

In my opinion, these are good quality passenger tires for their price. They offer decent traction and handling performance. Although they are marketed as all-season tires, I would not expect optimal performance in snowy or icy conditions, despite retailer claims to the contrary.
